Under Harrie Smolders, Emerald’s striking half-brother Nixon van ‘t Meulenhof recently made a convincing 1.50m debut and as a progenitor he also made a very promising start. In the pedigree of this three-year-old jumping talent, he is united with a first class damline. His young dam is a full sister of the successful Grand Prix showjumper Domino, with which Jos Verlooy participated in the European Championships in Herning and Aachen, the WEG in Caen and Nations Cup and World Cup finals. Granddam Queen d’Azur Middelstede also produced the international Grand Prix jumper Torinto van de Middelstede (s.Remondo) ridden by Guy Williams and can also be found in the damline of 1.45m level performers such as Malaga and Labelle vd Middelstede.
