ABOUT
This showjumping talent boasts an exceptional pedigree. He combines the Olympic stallions Emerald van ’t Ruytershof and Baloubet du Rouet—both proven producers of top-level Grand Prix horses—with a powerful damline.
Shanghai advanced to the second viewing at the KWPN stallion selection earlier this year and is a half-brother to the 1.50/1.60m jumpers Kartouche (by Baltic VDL) and Mr. Fuchs (by Mr. Blue). Their dam, Utravola, also produced the 1.40/1.45m performers Carbani (by Carolus II) and Impossible (by Tornesch). In addition, she is the full sister to the international 1.50m mare Travola, ridden by Michelle Vandal.
This direct damline has also produced multiple successful 1.50/1.60m horses, including Garavola, Jaravola, Midnight, Hera FBH, and Westham.
Shanghai is a true eye-catcher and a valuable addition to any stable, thanks to his presence and charisma. He strongly resembles his sire Emerald, and with his outstanding pedigree and natural quality, he holds excellent promise for both sport and breeding.
