As a son of the Olympic medallist Quel Homme de Hus, ridden by Jérôme Guery, Qats van de Meele Z appears destined for a bright future. His sire enjoyed an exceptionally successful career at the highest level over many years and, despite a limited number of coverings, has already produced several offspring competing at 1.40/1.45m level. On the dam side, this colt descends from a French damline. His granddam, God Saves The Reves by Wisbecq, is a half-sister to the international 1.60m performers Atlantys by Wisbecq (s.Argentinus), ridden by Aldrick Cheronnet, and Ayma de la Demi Lune (s.Cardento), ridden by Cara Anthony. This direct family has also produced 1.60m horses such as Igins du Seigneur and Acardi du Houssoit Z.
